Arakaka
Overview

The Arakaka project is a large 100% owned 17,699 ha (176.9 km2) district-scale exploration project located in the prolific, Barama-Mazaruni Greenstone belts of the Guiana shield. The Arakaka area is a prolific artisanal mining district and displays widespread mineralization with corresponding alteration haloes. Previous operators have spent over a cumulative US $25M on the property providing a detailed district-scale data set that includes historical drilling, soil geochemistry, and geophysics.

Access and Location

The Arakaka project is situated in the Barama-Waimi District of northwestern Guyana. Arakaka is approximately 170 km northwest of the capital, Georgetown. Daily commercial flights occur from Georgetown to the Mathew’s Ridge airstrip, located less than 10 km from the project site. Project access is through a well-maintained, all-weather dirt road. Access around the property is accomplished through a series of maintained 4x4 roads. Additional ATV trails exist on the property, that allow for access to remote areas of the land concession.

In 2019, the Bosai Minerals Group (Guyana) Inc. constructed a manganese mine at nearby Matthew’s Ridge. Mine construction resulted in increased and improved infrastructure within the Arakaka area.

Arakaka is located 15 km from a deep-water port at Port Kaituma.
